Venice: Laura Poitras' ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOODSHED wins the Golden Lion

Laura Poitras' ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOODSHED was awarded the Golden Lion for Best Film at the 79th Venice International Film Festival by a competition jury led by Julianne Moore. The film, about the photographer Nan Goldin, was the only documentary competing in the Venezia 79 section and won over strong competitors. President Julianne Moore said that she and the other members of the jury – Mariano Cohn, Leonardo di Costanzo, Audrey Diwan, Leila Hatami, Kazuo Ishiguro, Rodrigo Sorogoyen – were “satisfied and proud” of the results.
