Vivos explores the aftermath of the night of September 26, 2014, when a convoy of College students travelling through the drug cartel-afflicted Guerrero state in Mexico were brutally attacked by masked assailants abetted by the police. Six people were killed on the site of the raid, dozens more were wounded, and 43 students were forcibly disappeared. The Chinese artist, filmmaker and human rights activist Ai Weiwei portrays the emotional travails of the families of the disappeared as they demand answers about the crimes committed that night from untrustworthy authorities and try to establish the whereabouts of their loved ones.
